🌟The Perfect Christmas Drink🌟

In my opinion around christmas you can’t go wrong with a hot chocolate! It’s warm for those chilly days and nights. It’s chocolatey to bring you back up after the stress of christmas shopping. And it won’t keep you up longer than you want to be like coffee! It’s PERFECT!!! I mean it will be once you add a few extra’s to the standard hot chocolate, and trust me there’s quite a few you can add! Here’s a few of my favourites!

So get changed into some comfy clothes, stick a christmas film on, get a blanket ready and make the hot chocolate of your dreams!! ENJOYYYYYYY!

🌟Top 10 Christmas Films🌟

In the first few days of December I like to start watching Christmas films to get me in the festive spirit. I’m one of these people that is totally against Christmas until December 1st hits, then I go a bit crazy. So here is my Top 10 Christmas films to get me in the festive spirit (with some strange descriptions)!

  1. The Holiday: A loveable RomCom about women swapping houses.
  2. The Grinch: A green man, with a secret heart of gold and a slight anger issue.
  3. Gremlins: A cute animal, with bad siblings basically.
  4. ELF: A elf man looking to find himself and his father.
  5. Love Actually: A lot of love, in different forms around Christmas Time.
  6. Home Alone: Abandoned child, forced to become a ninja to protect his home.
  7. Santa Clause the Movie: Santa and his christmas routine with a twist.
  8. Bad Santa: A fake santa/conman makes a friend.
  9. Oliver: An orphan finds a better life, after a lot of obstacles.
  10. Jingle All the Way: Grown men fight for a toy, to prove he isn’t a bad father.

Now I admit these are all well known classics but when your doing a film a day in December there is time to branch out and see christmas films you’ve never seen. For example I’ve never seen Miracle on 34th Street (yes really…), or A Wonderful Life, and I don’t think I’ve seen A Christmas Carol all the way through. So they’re on my To Do List this year, what’s on yours?

🌟Christmas Apps🌟

As soon as the end of November approaches, I always without fail start to prepare my phone for December. Whether that’s just by changing the wallpapers, downloading a christmas countdown or even christmas games. So this is my lists of my top Christmas Apps this year for IOS.

  1. Advent 2015 – 25 Days of Christmas by appChocolate: This is just your basic Advent Calendar in App form. Everyday they offer you a new christmas game to download and enjoy.
  2. Christmas Countdown 2015 by UAB Target Works: A simple countdown with the added feature of a daily quote, plus you can also have it as a widget on your down bar so you don’t even have to go into the app to see the countdown.
  3. Christmas Wallpapers by Tick Tock Apps: This has a variety of christmas backgrounds to suit everyone’s needs during the festive season. Simple and brilliant.
  4. Pintrest by Pintrest, Inc: Now I know this isn’t just restricted to Christmas time, but it’s such a brilliant app for this time of year. If your struggling to know what to buy for that distant relative, or even just want to do some Christmas DIY or baking this app has it all. (It can even teach you how to make decorations).
  5. Manage Christmas by Simon North: This is by far my favourite app this year. You can make a list of who you need to buy for, the budget you want to keep, what you’ve bought, what you need. IT’s just brilliant, especially if your on a budget!
  6. Smashy Santa by Clive Smith: This is just a christmas game where you have to safely get santa across the roads, and streams without getting him killed. Fun but also annoying at the same time.
  7. Charades! Free by FatChicken Studios: We all know what charades is, this is just a digital version to play with all the family around christmas. Funny and no tidying away after the game is finished (or after you’ve had a few drinks).
  8. Netflix by Netflix, Inc: We all have a need for christmas films! This is just a great app that holds some of your festive favourites. For example; Home Alone, A Christmas Carol, The Santa Clause, and Jingle All The Way. Enjoy!
  9. Youtube by Google, Inc: This is just the same as pointers but in video form really. There’s DIY, christmas make up tutorials, gift ideas, and of course your favourite Youtuber’s. What more could you want?

There’s only one App missing from my collection and that’s the 12 Days of Christmas/Gifts App. This hasn’t been around for the last two years, but it was a great app with provided you with songs, films and apps to download on 12 days in December. I wish it was brought back. Anyway that’s just a few of my favourite’s, feel free to leave me a comment with your favourite apps for this time of the year :).

🌟Too Old for Advents?🌟

Christmas comes and goes each year. And each year as soon as December hits, the chocolate advent calendar’s come out and get eaten by people of all ages everywhere. I am one of these people…But the statement I keep hearing is “aren’t you too old for an advent calendar”. For this I have a simple answer.

No one is too old for chocolate! No matter what form it comes in.

Christmas is a time of joy, peace and happiness, so if getting fat makes me happy…I’m going to do it. Everyday! For December at least…

Bah Humbug?

So November has hit, and even before bonfire night has left our rearview mirror, people are already beginning to decorate for Christmas. Now I know what you may be thinking…Jeez what a Grinch! Who doesn’t love Christmas? What’s wrong with starting early? And I understand these views…but what’s the rush?

It’s seems like people start earlier and earlier as the years go on, and I honestly don’t think this is how it should be. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for the Christmas scented candles and the annual routine of Christmas films. But If you pull the Christmas season forward then you lose the spirit and atmosphere of Autumn. The crunchy leaves that mark your path home, the beauty of the baring branches against the sky as the sun is setting, and even the chill that allows you to see your own breath.

You may think that if you start early then you don’t have to rush around at the last minute…but I think that’s also what Christmas is about. Marching down the high street in December trying to weave between all the bodies to try to find that perfect gift for a loved one. I think too many of us try to rush through the year. I know time doesn’t wait, but maybe we could do a bit more to embrace each of the months and then we would also enjoy them a bit more. Instead of feeling like time just slips through our hands.
