August Highs and Lows

I don’t want to dwell on this too much because I’ve covered a lot in this months posts. There’s always going to be highs and lows to every month…but in comparison this has been an average month. I have nothing to complain about or preach about, that I haven’t already. So Instead I shall leave this month with a quote…

“There is no black-and-white situation. It’s all part of life. Highs, lows, middles.” – Van Morrison

My Zodiac Sign

I was born on the 16th of July, so my star sign is Cancer. One of the definitions for the cancer zodiac sign is…

Cancerians love home-life, family and domestic settings. They are traditionalists, and enjoy operating on a fundamental level. They love history, and are fascinated with the beginnings of things (heraldry, ancestry, etc.). The moon is their ruler, so they can be a bit of a contradiction and sometimes moody. However, they are conservative, so they’ll be apt to hide their moods from others altogether. They have a reputation for being fickle, but they’ll tell you that isn’t true, and it’s not. Cancerians make loyal, sympathetic friends. However Cancerians need alone time, and when they retreat, let them do so on their terms.

This was taken from the site: http://www.whats-your-sign.com/zodiac-signs-and-meanings.html.

I can actually see myself in this description quite a bit. I love being at home, and spending time with my family and offering support where I can…nowhere is like home. I am also interested in history to a degree, and would love to try to create a family tree at some point in my life…however I expect there will be some family secrets that will be uncovered deep down. On the lines of the whole hiding moods thing, I do this at times…sometimes without even realising. It’s just a coping mechanism overall. I’m not sure about the whole loyal and sympathetic part. I do try but whether I actually come across like this is a different thing, we can try to do something nice but than be portrayed in a different way. Then in regards to the final thing mentioned… I do like alone time, more so now then ever before…and sometimes if I don’t get it, it can start to feel a bit suffocating. Strange how a generalisation can be quite relevant at times I guess…

Pet Peeves!

There are many things in this life that I consider a pet peeve, however I won’t go into detail over them all. Otherwise we’d be here forever…so without further ado I give you my top 3 pet peeves.

  1. Judging others/Narrow Mindedness – this mainly focuses on hidden illnesses however it can be applied to other things. If someone walks different or acts differently or even messes up in a simple task. Think twice before you judge them. You don’t know if they have something wrong with them, or even if they’re just having a shit day, you don’t know. So think twice before you say something or even think about it, because one day you may be in a similar position and you might wish for the people around you to be a bit more considerate.
  2. Annoying People – these are the people who do things, just because they can and they know it will piss you off. These people are brilliant. One example of this oh so brilliant behaviour is when your standing in queue waiting to be served, and someone comes behind you and stands so close to (invading personal space) so that you move forward…because in their mind that’s going to get them served faster?! This also applies if your in a car, when they  keep moving closer and closer to you. (Between you and me sometimes I actually wish they would move too far and go into my car just so I can whine at them…but this is only on a bad days).
  3. Rudeness – this is a generalised one. I like to call these people the ‘mood crushers’. These are people I meet a lot, due to working in a cafe. And sometimes it seems like they just feel the need to inflict sadness and annoyance on everyone. Pushing, complaining, being ignorant, ahh there’s so many options.

This is quite a negative blog post so I won’t go on anymore, but those are my three biggest pet peeves, and have you noticed what they have in common? People. I think this is why I like animals more…

Dream Slut…

So in every relationship there are funny moments…yesterday I realised one of mine.

Now before I go ahead with this post I’d just like to say, I wouldn’t normally let anyone get away with calling me a slut…but on this occasion I’ll let it slide (although I shall begin planning my revenge).

I was talking to my boyfriend in the car and happened to mention about a dream I had the previous night where I slept with a YouTuber. You may think why would I tell him that? That reason being because I thought he would find this funny seen as he creates videos online too, and we both aspire to become YouTubers…however it appears I was wrong.

Now I admit this isn’t the first time I’ve willingly slept with someone in a dream…or even told him about it. And I say willingly because in a previous post I mentioned I occasionally have the ability to realise I’m in a dream and therefore can adapt it to suit me. Surprisingly he can also do the same. So because of that little fact, he felt it was acceptable to give this ‘twatish’ response…

He claimed that he also had a similar dream the previous night where a young lady had began to come onto him in a club, and lure him into her boudoir. However being the chivalrous and noble gentleman he is, he rejected her by informing her he had a girlfriend. Unlike and I quote! “The dream slut” he had in his car…

Within minutes the car we were travelling in became a comical couples courtroom, in which we were both fighting our sides of who was the better partner. Of course no one won as it was all built on sarcasm, but the overall point to be made here in this otherwise pointless blog post is simply…don’t take life too seriously. Funny little moments in relationships are the best, and you can always look back on them to brighten your day.

“People are only mean when they are threatened.” – Mitch Albom, Tuesdays With Morrie.

Morning walk!

Being woken up by my mum on a Sunday morning at five to eight would normally get a bad response. Luckily this morning I was in a good mood! I had a good sleep, barely anything on my mind and good plans for the day. The walk lasted around about an hour, just enough time for the rain from the previous night that hung on the grass and sparkled in the sun to dry up.

Sometimes it’s the simple things in life that can make your day a bit brighter. Hope you all have a good morning, and if you do go for a walk…walk in quiet places!

“I think what you notice most when you haven’t been home in a while is how much the trees have grown around your memories.” – Mitch Albom, Tuesdays With Morrie.

It can’t just be me…can it?

In life we get into bad moods (no that’s not really what this post is about, of course that’s not just me). Whether its due to people annoying you, things not going right in general, or even just getting out of bed on the wrong side. When this happens people tend to just tell you to cheer up or deal with it, which is fair enough if they want to show they don’t really care or they have more important stuff to deal with themselves. But no matter what the situation or problem, there is always someone I can rely on. That person is Ivan.

Ivan…my dear Ivan, is my beloved Ipod. Now I know what you must be thinking your Ipod has a name? And the truth is no, not until this blog post was written…but needs must. You also might be thinking how can you rely on a Ipod. If this thought crossed your mind, you have clearly underestimated the power of an Ipod.

There are many glorious powers an Ipod holds. Firstly the ability of teleportation. No matter where you are, all you have to do is pop in your headphones, crank up the volume and you can be somewhere else in a matter of seconds. A nice warm beach, the moon, a quaint cafe or for me…sitting on the sea front in Reykjavik, Iceland. Now im going to let you into a little secret. To the people around you it will appear that you are being ignorant, but that just an illusion and no ever has to know the truth.

The second ability, and some of you wont be able to believe this, but it can give you the ability to succeed in your chosen career path…just so long as its one of the following careers. Professional DJ, dancer, singer, or any type of musician (for example master of air guitar). However one song I wouldn’t recommend testing the professional singing career out with would be  ‘We all stand together’ by Paul McCartney. As for me personally the frog sections just didn’t work out…especially in public.

And on that note I shall leave you to ponder over what you can do with the power of your Ipod, as the possibilities are endless.

“Take one story, viewed from two different angles. It is the same day, the same moment, but one angle ends happily… and the other ends badly.” – Mitch Albom, The Five People You Meet In Heaven.
