My First Time in Majorca…

Ok so about a week ago my Instagram was insane! Not to blow my own trumpet, but I always think my instagram is better when I’m off travelling…A bit of a hint by the title but I went to Majorca/Mallorca for the first time (not sure why there’s two spellings)…anyway.

I’d been to the Balearic Island of Ibiza before and in many way this was very similar looks and personality wise, but on the flip side the holiday in general was different. The first reason why it was different was we went (me and my friend Georgina) all inclusive. ALL INCLUSIVE! Oh my. Saying it now even makes my mouth water. I mean sure there was alcohol of all varieties, wine, sangria, beer, vodka, rum. BUT I’m talking about the food! I love food…so the thought of being able to eat whatever I wanted however many times I wanted was just amazing. The three main foods for me just in that week were bread smothered in butter, grilled salmon, and of course Ice Cream! There were other foods of course with lots of variety ,so I didn’t waste the chance to try things I’d never tried before like Paella and lemon fish and even Muscles.  But the bread! I have no idea what the Spanish do but their bread is soooo good! Moving on…

The second thing that was different about this holiday was the company. Having only two people means that there’s less people to keep happy. Sure going in groups can be great and you can always split up, but there are a lot more people to keep happy lets be honest and you aren’t always going to want to do the same things. Another thing about it just being the two of us is that we are easy people to please in general, so it was nice to just have a relaxing holiday with nothing or no-one to worry about. Pure bliss…until I dragged Georgina shopping every so often. Sorry not sorry.

Now Majorca as an Island is a mixture of things. You have the nice quiet, relaxing area like where we stayed in Santa Ponça. You have the shopping, city side of it like in Palma, and then you have the Magaluf side, which you know each to their own but I wouldn’t like to stay their personally. We only saw this part for a few minutes, and I’m normally not one to judge but them few minutes going through Magaluf was enough (yes that rhymed…depending on how you say it). It wasn’t pretty put it that way. Palma on the other hand was a gorgeous city full of amazing architecture, art, entertainment and of course shops!

Getting around Majorca was easy too. Walking around there were lots to see and do in Santa Ponça, including DJ Rudy’s magical Bingo Bongo nights at the hotel, always a treat! But the buses were easy to get to too (once we found a bus stop) and cheap to get us to towns around Santa Ponça, it was €3.40 to get to Palma! Definitely worth the money, even if the bus driver was counting his money rather than keeping his eyes on the road all the time :/.

Overall the whole experience was brilliant for me, from the hotel to the whole Island I couldn’t fault it and I’d definitely go back again! I returned home feeling so relaxed and even refreshed…Until next time DJ Rudy!

Single on Valentine’s

Ok so Valentine’s Day is upon us, and although this is a day/evening for couple’s to celebrate romances old and new…this post is mainly for all the single people out there.

Now even though we’re single, there are still ways we can celebrate Valentine’s Day alone..and the chances are that when it gets to the end of the night, we are probably feeling a hell of a lot more satisfied and relaxed than a lot of couple’s will out there. So to make it simple this is my guide to kick ass on Valentine’s Day! Just as a disclaimer I am no expert at being single, but I do know how to have a great night in…so let’s get started with my way to be single on Valentine’s day.

Ok first things first FOOD. I love food and the perks of being single is that you can eat whatever the heck you want, without having to consider anyone else likes or dislikes. Pizza, Nandos, Chinese, Curry…the possibilities are endless. Hey even if you can choose, you could just have a bit of everything. All to yourself. Another great reason for being single is that you don’t have to share with anyone! I could have Ice cream with pancakes for dessert and I could eat it all with no distractions. PERFECT!

The next thing on my agenda after I get food sorted is down time. You want to be relaxed and comfy obviously. So take a bath, light some candles, get a glass of wine (or whatever you like to drink) and just relax. No need to think or worry about what you need to do, or keeping anyone else happy. Just focus on you. Then after you’ve turned into a wrinkly prune get out of the bath and into the fluffiest, most unsexy pyjama’s you have and snuggle up on the sofa.

Onto number three, now by this point in a relationship you’d either be arguing or getting ‘down to business’, sooo let’s grab our hot buff celebrity crush and throw on a romcom. Filled with highs and lows including arguments, conflict, comedy, upset, nudity, and of course sex. What more could you want from entertainment on a night in alone? Basic but brilliant. On a different note if your not into films, why not read a book or even hop onto the Xbox and play a bit of Fallout 4 for that survivor/defender inside of you.

Ok so the night is coming to a end now…but maybe your feeling a bit unfulfilled still? wondering what to do with yourself before bed? How about….some internet shopping! Maybe you saw a top or a dress you wanted last time you went shopping, or even just fancy a little pick me up. The internet is there! With deals, and offers and overall pretty things to buy. So why not? Then after you can relax into a nice warm bed (with your electric blanket) and drift of into a peaceful sleep.

And there you have it! The day is over and you can go back to your everyday life, with the blissful memory of having a nice relaxing valentines with your one true love (you)! Anyway that’s just my perfect day. Feel free to leave me any comments or feedback about have you’d spend your Valentine’s day evening and I hope you kick ass.

Holiday…

Today’s challenge was ‘think of any word, type it into google and then write something inspired about the 11th image’.This image is shown above.

Like a lot of things in life, some words come with a set image or even stigma. The word holiday is no exception. When people mention a holiday the first thing that pops into your head is somewhere warm, sunny, relaxing with the sea out in front of you and a drink in hand. That’s why I don’t class Iceland as a holiday…more of an adventure, whenever someone brings it up. I’ve only been to Iceland this year, and with everyone posting photo’s of their holidays now…it sucks.

I want to go on holiday. Correction…I want to go on a warm holiday! I need sun! Sometimes I like to blame my eczema for needing a holiday because the vitamin D and the sea water is good for it…but really it’s just because I like to escape England and enjoy the warmth and freedom. Anyway…I’m off to book a holiday!!!

The five ways to win my heart…

Option number 1: Cat videos. I love cat videos. Whether they’re funny, cute, or even a bit weird, I love them all. There’s a high chance I’ve seen all of them, but if I’m ever down this is a sure way to pick me back up instantly.

Option number 2: Food. I’ll pretty much eat anything, but the definite wooing foods are chocolate, chicken, ice cream (mint choc chip), corn on the cob, bacon, pancakes, watermelon, pea and ham soup, buttered bread, maybe even the odd mini kiev.

Option number 3: Sleep. I like sleep….lots. So there’s a few ways to go about this, you can either let me have a nice long lie in, or let me fall asleep in a warm place. For extra brownie points you could even make a little den filled with a hot water bottle and snacks for a midnight feast.

Option number 4: Films. I’m always open to seeing new films…or old films depending on the production date. So if you have a good film choice and it makes its way into my top 50, your onto a winner!

Option number 5: Travel. This one’s more of an expensive option. But let’s be honest if I had an opportunity to go travelling right now, I’d take it in a heartbeat. Wherever, whenever! So let’s travel!

Dreaming Days Away…

Sometimes…I prefer dreaming to reality.

In dreams anything can happen. You have no worries of money, no thoughts of the future, nothing. In a way it’s like being a child again, unaware of the outside world and all the bad alongside it. It can also allow you the freedom to live in the moment with no restrictions…living in the moment but outside reality. Of course these are all good dreams. Nightmares on the other hand are very different. In some cases it can even put fears you never knew you had into your everyday life, bringing them alive. So it’s best to just keep them away, or even invest in a dream catcher to prevent bad dreams!

The main beauty I find in dreams is that you can occasionally adapt them or even control them, given that you realise you are dreaming. Which occasionally is something that I can do. This is also quite helpful in nightmares though, I mean if your being chased by a zombie you can imagine a gun in your pocket and boom….shot it right in the head. Problem Solved.

Dreaming is just another of my many attempts to escape from reality. Something I see to do a lot of the time…but life can’t wait forever.

“All that happens when your dreams come true is a slow, melting realization that it wasn’t what you thought.” – Mitch Albom, For One Day More.
